3rd Annual St Louis Dystonia Zoo Walk Raises Awareness & Research Funds

On Saturday August 26, St Louis was the latest of 11 cities across the U.S. to host a Dystonia Zoo Walk in 2017. The event was organized on the cusp of Dystonia Awareness Month by DMRF volunteer June Tritley of Belleville, Illinois who leads the St Louis Metro Dystonia Support Group. This is the third annual St. Louis Dystonia Zoo Walk. June became a tireless dystonia advocate after the diagnosis of her two young sons. Dystonia Zoo Walks offer a “twist” on traditional charity walks with no required walking course or expectation other than teams of family and friends coming together to enjoy a morning at the zoo.

“The Zoo Walk was an amazing success! Thank you to everyone who attended!” says June. “It’s important for me that my boys know they have a community behind them and that they are not alone.”

Additional Dystonia Zoo Walks to benefit the DMRF are scheduled in the coming weeks in Cincinnati, NYC/Bronx, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia. More information about these and additional DMRF events is available at www.dystonia-foundation.org/events.
