Pat Brogan - Dystance4Dystonia

In lieu of having our annual Help Find A Cure 4 dystonia Benefit which has raised over $191,000 for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation (DMRF), a 501c(3) organization that funds doctors and scientists hoping to find a cure for dystonia, I will be participating in Dystance4dystonia which supports DMRF.

Dystance4dystonia is sponsoring a group of runners in the NYC Marathon to raise awareness and funds for research. Each runner is responsible for raising $2500 to aid this cause. My family and friends have been very generous over the years with our benefit, bus trips, and various fundraisers for dystonia research and I am gratefully appreciative.

This year I'm challenging myself to complete my first official marathon on November 5th with hopes of raising awareness about dystonia and inspiring those who suffer from dystonia that anything is possible. I suffered a hit and run bicycle accident on 9/25/01 which started the onset of dystonia. After several open brain surgeries 11 battery changes and over 40 surgeries, I remain a battery-powered person living with dystonia. Dystonia affects no fewer than 250,000 Americans and to date there is no cure. You can share my page with friends. Thank You
