Volunteers with Focal Dystonias Needed
The National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Neurological Disoders & Stroke is sponsoring a research study to compare the brain structure of people with and without focal dystonia. Participation in the study may include providing a medical history, having a physical examination, laboratory testing, and non-invasive brain imaging using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
The study is conducted at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. There is no cost for participation. Time commitment consists of two visits lasting two hours each.
You may be eligible to participate if you are:
--Diagnosed with blepharospasm, cervical dystonia, or hand dystonia (writer's cramp)
--Age 18 or older, and healthy
--Eligible to have an MRI
--Willing to abstain from caffeine and alcohol for 48 hours before MRI
--NOT pregnant
--NOT claustrophobic
