Janet Hieshetter has served as Executive Director of the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation since 2004. Janet has over 20 years experience in association and healthcare-related settings. Previous positions include Director of Community Resource Development at TRIOLOGY, Inc. and Senior Director/Interim Executive Director of the National Osteoporosis Foundation. She earned a BA in Health Sciences from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Janet is the primary media contact for the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation. She is knowledgeable in key issues of dystonia and movement disorders including funding for research, support systems for the diagnosed, resources for the undiagnosed, and advocacy campaigns for public awareness.
Janet has appeared in The Daily Herald, on ABC – WLS Chicago; ABC - KSTP Minneapolis, CBS – WCCO Minneapolis, FoxNews.com, and other national and regional news outlets.
