Catching Up with Shari & Ira of "Twisted"

Who can forget Shari and Ira from the dystonia documentary Twisted? Mr. and Mrs. Tritt are one of those couples that the rest of us observe in quiet awe and think, Wow. They really have something special. Within seconds of appearing together on camera, Shari and Ira demonstrate an unconditional love so compelling that even the most cynical of us are moved by its power. They remind us that love and family are powerful agents of healing and strength, and as essential to human survival as food, water, and shelter.

Shari said, “We did the film to show people you can have dystonia and live a full, active life! I’ve been blessed to have found a wonderful man—warts and all—who loves me for who I am, and a family who has supported me all my life.”

The couple explained, “We did Twisted to let the whole world know about dystonia and what it is. Our hope is doctors will be able to diagnose people faster, and researchers will find a cure very soon.”
