My favorite event to plan is a Jail N’ Bail event. It is so easy and who doesn’t like to call people and tell them they are in jail as a joke…! People donate money to throw their friends in "jail." Once jailed, the person is then asked to raise their bail (usually double the amount of the donation that jailed them). So, if Sally donated $50 to have John jailed, John would have to raise $100 for bail. Perfect for college students, sororities, fraternities, etc., this event is always a hit.

Steps to planning a Jail N’ Bail:

--Find a location

--Find volunteers

--Find prize donations for people raising the most money

--Find companies that will donate food

Once you have ironed out the who, what, when, and where of the event, then:

--Create "you have been jailed" forms and letters

--Create fliers for advertising

--Send out and post fliers

--Send out press releases

Make sure that your volunteers stay in the loop.

--Send or email "you have been jailed" forms

--Call or email volunteers with the details of the event and their roles
