Becky's Blog: Birthing Class & Shopping Malls
2/14/08
Well it’s been other busy two weeks since I
blogged last. John and I attended our weekend birth class. It was a
Saturday/Sunday class with about 10 couples, all due in the next two or three
months. Really it was a lot of stuff that I already knew because I have done so
much reading and research, I don’t like to be surprised! But we did learn a lot
of good stuff about laboring and birth, and now we know exactly what to do when
the big day finally arrives. I feel so much better knowing all the information,
much more at ease. I think that John
was a real good sport about giving up his weekend for the class and he learned
some good information.
We also got to tour the hospital and see the
birthing rooms so there will be no surprises there. Ellie certainly made her
presence known during the class. She was as active as even, kicking and moving
all of the time.
We went up to Chicago to be with John’s family for
Thanksgiving. John has a big family and this was the first time some of the
women had seen my big belly so it got a lot of attention! And then of course
there was all the food! John made sure that I ate lots of turkey and ham. But
boy did I get my fill. The next day we hit the stores (not too early) for some
Christmas shopping. That was quite a challenge with the dystonia and all the
walking involved. We just had to plan everything out and already know pretty
much the shops that we wanted to hit, stay on one side of the mall, and then
add in frequent stops to sit. John was
really helpful making sure that I didn’t get too tired. All in all it went well
and we actually got all our shopping done, along with some online and
day-before shopping that had already been done. We thought it best to bet all
the shopping done before I get any bigger, and while John had the time to help
me out. Well just a month and a half left!
Until later, Becky & Ellie
